d’Alembert Roulette Strategy is based on a negative progression – it suggests that you should increase wager amounts when you loose and decrease them when you win. It also doesn’t advice you to double your wagers when unsuccessful, instead it uses a more linear approach that will account for less swings. However, it also won’t allow you to win much when you hit a hot streak.
Applying d’Alembert Strategy at Roulette Tables
As d’Alembert suggests that you should increase bets when you win and decrease them when you loose, you should start out by checking what’s the minimum bet amount at the Roulette Table that will be used to apply this system at. If the minimum bet is $1, you might want to try out by betting at least $10, so in case of a bad streak you’d be able to decrease your bet.
You also have to think about the amount of money that will be added or taken from your bet-sizing. If you start out by $10, changing the amount by $1 is fine. However, if you start out by betting $100 changing your wagers by $5 or $10 might be a good idea.
For the sake of this example, let’s say that I start by betting $100 and changing my wagers by $10 depending on the outcome of a particular spin.

Flaw in d’Alembert System
d’Alembert is flawed as it fails to change the house edge, which is there and is not affected by any system you’ll use. This is exactly the same reason for all other Betting Systems being flawed. In order to change the house edge you have to cheat! Certainly don’t do that!
Benefits for using d’Alembert System
Use of d’Alembert betting system will allow you to concentrate and play by a certain set of rules. This strategy is a really linear one – you won’t win a ton of money or loose a ton of money by using it. It doesn’t suggest that you should double or triple your wagers under any circumstances.
